Miracle of power that elevates a few men comes out from the application of great ideas. And Suresh Krishna, Chairman and MD, Sundaram Fasteners, is one of those rare individuals whose ideas have redefined growth and success for his group. Krishna, who has worked tirelessly to bring the company to the fore, has also helped the company become a leader in automobiles parts. Born at Madurai in 1936, Krishna received his Bachelor of Science degree from Madras Christian College in 1955 and went to do his MA in literature from the University of Wisconsin. And the person responsible for such rapid expansion of SFL is none but Krishna himself. Believing that the hard work is the stuff the successful businesses are made of, Krishna's innovative ideas and his understanding of the nuances of automobiles business have helped him carving a niche for SFL.
It's no wonder that the company under Krishna is looking forward for further expansion. Recently, the ancillary manufacturer is betting on China and it hopes to enhance its revenue to 25% of total exports. Giving his best shot to SFL, Krishna has helped SFL earn sales revenue of Rs 520 crore, out of which exports accounted for around Rs 100 crore. Krishna, a known name in automobile ancillary, was the president of the Confederation of Engineering Industry during 1987-88 and the chief officiating dignitary of Automotive Component Manufactures Association of India in 1982-84. Krishna's multi-faceted talent does not remain confined to automobile industry but has found expression in various other fields as well.
He was a director on the central board of the Reserve Bank of India and has been a member of the Indo-German Consultative Group, jointly set up by the Prime Minister of India and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. Krishna, during his decades-long career, has won several accolades.
